More to come from Black Students' Alliance.
The Black Power Rally (BPR) is a historical tradition at Michigan State University. BPR is an event that is hosted to cultivate awareness about the histories, narratives, and everyday experiences of African and African descended peoples through the medium of art, music, dance, spoken word/poetry, and intellectual skits all of which is produced and executed by students across campus. Furthermore, BPR strives to ignite social activism and coalition building across identities at MSU.

Mr. Black MSU was a scholarship competition that was started by BSA in the early 2000’s to highlight African American Men on the campus of MSU and to promote positive role models and education within Black MSU. The program was a huge success for many years. In 2012, BSA added the concept of Miss Black to the scholarship competition making it an equal opportunity for African American women. This year we are carrying on the tradition of Mr. and Miss Black MSU with seven contestants.
